Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek 15 Days

Dhaulagiri is the 7th highest mountain in the world standing at the height of 8167m. Mt. Dhaulagiri is also known as “white mountain” as the mountain remains covered with the white snow all around it. It is 5th highest one amongst in Nepal. Dhaulagiri massif is bounded north and southwest by a tributary of the Bheri River and Myagdi Khola. Dhaulagiri trek is one of the challenging treks of Nepal situated in the Annapurna region.

The trek starts at Beni following the Myagdi Khola River. It offers you to explore the Gandaki Gorge, the deepest George in the world which has been opened recently. The duration of this trek is 20 days. The trail takes you through cultivated terraced hills, high passes, unoccupied valleys, deciduous trees, ferns and forests of oak, rivers, rhododendrons and many other floral species. The Dhaulagiri Circuit route was discovered by a French team in 1950. This trek includes the crossing of two high passes, French Pass (5350m) and Dhampus Pass (5244m) along the hidden valley is one of the most rewarding treks. One can see the stunning views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Dhaulagiri II (7751m), Dhaulagiri III (7715m), Dhaulagiri V (7618m), Macchapuchhre (6966m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Tukuche Peak (6920m).

The people living here are kind-hearted and they are of Gurung, Magar, Thakali community. They will welcome you with their sweet smile and provides you the warm hospitality. You will see their culture, tradition, and enjoying the lifestyle. There is a tea house with amazing Mountain View and terrace.

This trek is for those who have high altitude trekking experience. You should have good physical condition. The best time to trek Dhaulagiri is March-April and October-November. The trek remains close in broad winter but you should be prepared for snowfall and windy weather in any season. You need Proper Mountain trekking equipment which includes ice ax, rope, crampons, and so on.

    Will there be any access to a satellite phone? If yes then what would be the charges for usage?
    Yes, most of our expedition guides take satellite phones and you are welcome to use these at wifi and local moble call Most often, your guide will post daily dispatches on the Nhh website in which your friends and family can follow your progress.

    I want to contact my friend or relative, who is on one of your trips, how can I reach them?
    Many of our treks and climbs send daily internet dispatches, and we receive updates from our guides while they are in the field. The best place to reach a loved one is through our office.

    Will there be any power source for charging batteries, etc. available throughout the trek?
    For lodge-bassed treks, many of the lodges have power available with typical Asian plugs (two nail like horizontal prongs) and offer to recharge for a fee. 

    We can cater for special power requirements at an extra cost or advise on the purchase of a suitable personal solar charging system - please enquire with our office.
