Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is home to many highest peaks in the world. During this trek, you get the chance to pass through local Gurung villages and be exposed to a diverse collection of flora and fauna until you reach your breathtaking destination, Annapurna Base Camp Trek at the height of 4130 meters. You will locate yourself centred by pristine peaks, which form a natural amphitheatre. From the viewpoint at PoonHill, you can see Annapurna South(7219m), Barasikha, Hiunchuli(6441m), Nilgiri(7060m), and Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail Mountain). Macchapucchre (6993m) is revered as sacred to the god Shiva and is therefore off-limits for climbing.
For the first phase of the several long days of the trek, you get to pass through terraced hillsides, lovely local villages and lively forests. After that, dense sub-tropical forests dominate the landscape. Leading up to the Annapurna Base Camp, you get yourself surrounded by alpine meadows and rocky outcroppings.
The views that you will get along this trail is unforgettable. If not more, equally fascinating is the experiencing the rich Gurung culture and other ethnic villages. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek rivals the Everest Base Camp Trek in terms of popularity of the trekkers. It is a true adventure and missing this true delight of experience seems pretty bad.
But, while trekking, you must be aware of the risks as well. While Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS) can be an issue, you must prepare yourself mentally and physically both.
The best time to have a once in a lifetime trek of your life in Annapurna Base Camp is any time of the year except for July – August.

Yes, most of our expedition guides take satellite phones and you are welcome to use these at wifi and local moble call Most often, your guide will post daily dispatches on the Nhh website in which your friends and family can follow your progress.I want to contact my friend or relative, who is on one of your trips, how can I reach them?
Many of our treks and climbs send daily internet dispatches, and we receive updates from our guides while they are in the field. The best place to reach a loved one is through our office. Will there be any power source for charging batteries, etc. available throughout the trek?
For lodge-bassed treks, many of the lodges have power available with typical Asian plugs (two nail like horizontal prongs) and offer to recharge for a fee.We can cater for special power requirements at an extra cost or advise on the purchase of a suitable personal solar charging system - please enquire with our office.
